The simple in and out motion of needle and thread, while praying, is an ancient sacred practice. This course will provide inspiration and an understanding of the materials and practice of hand-stitching prayers. You will learn various simple stitches and materials to create a prayer cloth, amulet, stitching journal, stitched prayer book, and prayer pocket. Prayerful hand-stitching, with practice, becomes a form of sacred poetry. Women stitching their prayers with intention, in a meditative rhythm, offer healing for the soul of the world.

Each of us has an awakened brain with a natural capacity to perceive a great reality and consciously connect to the life force that moves in, through and around us. Whether or not we participate in a spiritual practice or adhere to a faith tradition, or not we identify as religious or spiritual, our brain has a natural inclination toward and docking station for spiritual awareness.
